My FIL bought one a few months ago at my recommendation; it looks sinister.

Yup.

From C&D in an article with direct comparisons. The expedition platinum comes with the most powerful version of the EB V6 and the yukon denali of course has the 6.2 that the Tahoe RST does.

0-60
ford expedition platinum: 5.7 sec
GMC Yukon Denali: 5.8 sec

1/4 mile
ford expedition platinum: 14.4 @ 97mph
GMC Yukon Denali: 14.3 @ 99mph

You almost need to be at the drag strip to even see that gap.

One thing I will say, EcoBoost's (at least the 1st Gens) take like 20K miles to REALLY break in. Shit my Flex had the magazines times all around 14.6-8 1/4's brand new. I went to the track at the beginning of April (first time ever at the drag strip), on snow tires, and was running consistent 14.2's, with a couple 14.1's sprinkled in. I think that was even on winter blend gas. I want to take another trip up with the summer blend, car always feels so much strong and comes on boost so much quicker. I've got 115K miles on mine

I guess even still, it's not like one has a decidingly huge advantage over the other. Both are within a very small margin of one another. Not like one runs 12's and the other 15's.

Out on the street where most use their's, it won't matter. I can't think the last time I went WOT through 4 gears, in an acceleration contest in my Suburban. Most of the time, I don't think I ever go over 2,500 rpm because it just doesn't need to, to get up to the flow of traffic.

Not to be confused with the lesser RST Edition package, the RST 6.2L Performance Edition adds a—you guessed it—6.2-liter V-8 to the top-level Tahoe Premier. Although the 420-hp and 460-lb-ft V-8 is new to the Tahoe, it’s been found in the related GMC Yukon Denali and Cadillac Escalade since they launched in 2015.

Tahoe RST runs 0–60 mph in 5.8 seconds, and it gets through the quarter mile in 14.2 seconds at 98.4 mph—the V-8 bellowing triumphantly through the Borla exhaust the whole way. That bests the quickest standard Tahoes we’ve tested by more than a second. GM’s 6.2-liter V-8 has always been a sweetheart of an engine with plenty of torque available immediately off the line and throughout its powerband, and it’s only made better by the 10-speed auto with its lightning-quick and almost imperceptible gearshifts.

https://www.google.com/amp/www.moto...2018-lincoln-navigator-first-test-review/amp/

The 2018 Navigator gets the high-output version of the 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V-6 also found in the F-150 Raptor, meaning it has 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque on tap. That extra 75 hp and 40 lb-ft over the 2018 Expedition helped the Navigator reach 60 mph in a quicker 5.9 seconds—0.3 second sooner than the Ford despite the Lincoln weighing nearly 400 pounds more. That 0.3-second gap was maintained in the quarter mile, with the Navigator needing 14.5 seconds to cover that distance at a faster trap speed of 94.9 mph. The Cadillac Escalade, with its 420-hp, 460-lb-ft 6.2-liter V-8, is about as quick as the Navigator at 5.9 seconds to 60 mph and 14.4 seconds in the quarter,

 C&D times were a littpe different this. Guess Ill have to go back and look again.
