Give this guy a few more videos to work on facial animations and that would be incredible. Its crazy the kind of rendering power we have in desktop systems today.

A long time ago, on a couch not very far from here, Matt Lanter's voice replaced Hayden Christenson's voice for Anakin in my head.

Started watching Rebels for the past few plane rides. It's a lot better than I was expecting. I expected it to be a kids show (it kind of is but not any worse than Clone Wars) but it's much more. They don't do a good job at marketing these cartoons IMO. I'm into S3 now. This series has more OG trilogy vibes to it than Close Wars did, but there is a bit of carry over from Clone Wars. I'm rather enjoying it. I didn't see a separate thread for it but felt it fit here the best.

I think rebels should be required viewing after clone wars. I basically consider them as one. And yeah, based on when that show takes place, it definitely has more of an OG vibe to it, and there are some really excellent episodes as well

Yeah it definitely feels like a sequel with different main characters but a lot of recurring. I'm enjoying it a lot.

Honestly, it was mostly the Zeb/Chopper/Ezra antics early on that annoyed me. Far too much babysitting needed there.

Once they kill those little antics off the show really does get a lot better.

Still prefer the thicker lightsabers to the ones in Rebels though. :)

Show is definitely good no doubt. Worth owning.

Just finished Clone Wars last week and it was really good. As mentioned the first 2 seasons were a bit rough. But seasons 5/6/7 (with the exception of the stupid droid episodes) were all worth it. It fills in a lot of the story and really builds up some of the characters. I jumped into bad batch as soon as I finished and after reading this thread it sounds like I need to add rebels to the watch list after I get caught up on Loki.

I've been watching bad batch since it started. It's a fun show and I've been enjoying it because it's giving a glance into what was happening immediately after palpatine claimed power and executed order 66, but at this stage I don't know that i'd consider it "essential" viewing like clone wars and rebels. There have been cameos from various clone wars characters, including one in recent episodes that have had clone wars fans going crazy.

Yeah, right now it hasn't really added anything critical to the lore.

Both CW and Rebels significantly developed the characters over their runs, making them integral parts of canon.

Ahsoka occupies the same space as Harley Quinn from BTAS. A fundamental addition to the canon universe.

Started watching this recently in chronological order.

I've tried a few times in the past and never made it beyond 1-2 episodes.

Last episode I watched was #11 on this list. So far, the worst episodes have been the ones with Jar Jar, kind of like the Prequals.

Trying to finish these before Obi-Wan starts next month.

I know I should probably watch Rebels and Bad Batch too, we'll see how far along I get in this before Obi Wan starts.

TBH, Rebels is probably more relevant to what I've seen about Obi-Wan so far than Clone Wars is. But you kinda need to see Clone Wars to appreciate some of Rebels.

yup, that's what I've heard, so that's why I started with Clone Wars. Since the episodes are ~22 mins, if I can knock out an hour or 2 a night, that's 6 episodes per day that I can chug through and I should be able to get done by the end of the month and start Rebels early May.

If you can get out of the first 2-2.5 seasons it gets way better.

The droid episodes arc with the Tiny general, I admit was blah.

The "Kids" arch where Ahsoka takes the Younglings to get their first Kyber crystal starts off slow, but as soon as Hondo Ohnaka shows it gets fun as hell.

And the last 4 episodes, 8-12. Please Disney, re-cut those into a single movie and release it in the theaters. The Seige of Mandalor is worth that.

Any ideas what season/episodes these are? I've never watched beyond where I'm at now before, so this is all new/fresh to me.

Watched 2 or 3 more episodes tonight, that’s about all I can take in 1 sitting while these episodes aren’t great. I hope I can binge more after season 3 when you all claim it gets better. I cleansed my pallet with some F1 Drive to Survive.

Very slowing chugging away at the chronological order. A few episodes have been bad, too bad to watch another one following it.

Finished episode #43 on this list last night. There have been alot of stinkers, but it started to pick up for me episode 39, The Mandalore Plot. Still have alot to go. I don't think I'll get this done before Obi Wan airs.

It’s a great show. But I’ll be the first to say it’s got some downright painful episodes. Mostly the fortune cookie early Ashoka centric episodes.

Some of the c-3po / R2d2, and some of the Jar Jar eps are painful.

I’ll say though your about to hit season 3. From here the multi-episode arcs are starting.

The mandalore, Maul/Savage, and Umbara arcs are all high points.
