I thought this season was pretty good. It is hard to make it as impactful as the first season when we already know what we are in for. A buddy of mine watched it and was pretty let down, and I didn't think too much of it. Then I asked what he thought about Thanos randomly speaking English and he said he watched it in English so he never noticed. I think that really screws everything up IMO, you need it in Korean with subtitles. I saw a clip this morning that was in English and that really locked it in that watching it dubbed is terrible and probably ruins it completely.

Thanos was the only interesting character in that whole group this season :ROFLMAO: I don't know what he was taking, but I want what he had.

This season was a let down IMO, it was more like half a season. 7 episodes and half of it was just more of what we saw in s1. They should have cut some of the repetitive stuff and progressed further with the actual story line

I get that, and it really is half a season. I think if it was all released at once it would maybe be better received. Because this was a "season" it feels incomplete and yet dragged along.

I finished it this evening, wasnā€™t getting the let down vibes at all. Really enjoyed it, you got what made the first season great in the games/dynamic with a little bit of a twist. Donā€™t think the show would be as good without the games.

Just finished it up. Season was awesome. Him sulking around in the 1st two episodes was incredibly boring. People watch this show for the games. No reason to deviate from that.

Thanos was by far the best character in this season. I'm shocked they killed him off this half.

I think one of the magical things they did in the 1st season was spread around the back story to several characters so that there was at least a small sense of not knowing exactly who was going to die, and each death was actually impactful. Not even remotely close to the case this season, as it's obvious that 456 wasn't dying.

I'm slightly annoyed it was a straight up half season and ended on a cliff hanger like that. At least it's a short gap between them.

Lots of comments about being a repeat of the 1st season. Why is that a bad thing?

I'd absolutely watch an anthology series based on this concept. Where each season is just the next iteration of the games with all new characters. Almost like a competition show.

Because it did nothing to advance the story. Arguably worse games, arguably worse new cast of characters (Thanos aside)...and just a rinse repeat of 001 being involved. The entire hunt for the island was fucking dumb too.

The problem is the single season split into 2 seasons for no reason. This is very clearly a single season worth of story that they're trying to milk.

Ever since I watched that episode that song has a permanent residence in my head now :ROFLMAO:

Lotta good points brought up about this season, and I can kinda see all of them. Yeah a lot of it felt like a repeat of last season, but I didn't mind that. The characters this season were definitely less interesting (Thanos excluded), and the split season is just stupid. It hasn't been perfect but I will patiently wait for the 2nd half so I can finish it up.

I am not sure what you expected for a second season. Of course the games would still be going on, they have been going on for decades. The players are weaker than season 1 because they aren't the point this time around. I do agree they should have played it as 1 season, but TV is now like 3 episodes per season with 20 year breaks between each season, so I am not surprised. The shit with the island is basically the whole point, the cop and 456 are trying to take it down since they were involved and they are going about it the ways they know how. The cop was rescued off an island, so he is looking for that same island as a starting point. 456 was recruited by the crazy guy in the train station so that is where is is looking to start.
