That car is very hard to look at . I would black primer it immediately . And take off that crazy back bumper . Post a picture of the rear fender from the front , I want to see how out of line the bumper is .
Yeah I like the Capri stuff. If I could find a Capri rear, I'd do that too, but people want too much. Going to a Junkyard this weekend to look for LX stuffs. See what I can find.
And no thanks on black. Black is boring. Though I am thinking about trying to do some paint work on this thing. The yellow has got me for some reason. I've never painted before, but it's a pile so I don't really care if I screw it up.
jbigalow ... time for jbigaslow to offload that black 87 LX bumper so that he can go to his 85 GT rear bumper on his 86 moostang...
It was an original white car that was painted yellow. White with red was common apparently. The interior is surprisingly complete. Just dusty as fuck. Need to wash all the stuffs before I puts them back in.
Looks like the center piece there, the one that holds the tail lights on as well as the rear bumper, was patched in from another car. And not done well. Shitty Weld job then didn't even paint over the metal part so it's all rusty. It's just surface rust. I've started to repair it, but my grinder is going to be working overtime.
I bet what happened is instead of just getting a whole saw making 87-93 tails work, this guy thought he was someone, drilled out the spot welds to the rear header, removed header, and installed a 83-93 mustang header in its place. Your car was only hit with ignorance.
That's for damn sure. I'm trying to get it right, but I'm a full blown amateur with body stuff. I can do very basic metal work, and I'm a shit painter. Just trying to make it so it doesn't rust from bare metal.
If you can score a rear header out of a Capri, spot weld, and get some seam sealer- your issue will be fixed. I see no indications that your car has been hit hard in the back
