A teaspoon of dishwashing liquid (like Dawn® liquid dish detergent) mixed with water in a spray bottle may also work. Since gasoline is a petroleum product (made from oil), the dish detergent will help remove any oil residue. Spray the area and scrub with a brush, then wipe with a towel.

Everyone beat me to with the correct suggestions. So here's my alternate. Guarantee it will not smell like gas after its done.

What’s the best way to get rid of the smell/clean it up? Not sure how much got out but I had a gas can turn over and it stinks.

It the smell is almost all gone. Took the trunk matt out. Had he car sitting out all day with the windows down and trunk open. I ended up hitting it with a combo of crap. Sprayed dawn, oxiclean, vinegar, and water solution over everything. Then filed up my little bissle dog piss cleaner upper with the same solution and sprayed/sucked everything up.
