A teaspoon of dishwashing liquid (like Dawn® liquid dish detergent) mixed with water in a spray bottle may also work. Since gasoline is a petroleum product (made from oil), the dish detergent will help remove any oil residue. Spray the area and scrub with a brush, then wipe with a towel.

I'd take the carpet out of the trunk, clean it and leave it out until it stops smelling.

Ok, i took it out and it’s hanging up. I think tomorrow I’ll hit it with the little bissle with some detergent mixed in and see how that does.

Clean the trunk and leave it open, too, as much as possible to let the gas molecules egress.

Clean the trunk mat with a degreaser of some sort. Dish soap works great on fuel. I used to use it to scrub diesel stains out of my work clothes. Otherwise just air out the trunk. The smell should clear out on its own pretty quickly.

Thirdgen89GTA suggestion would work for that as well. Maybe use some of that leftover gas as an accelerant.

Seriously though.... probably won't be able to. Once that smell gets into something it is damn near impossible to get out. Like professional levels of cleaning and chemicals sometimes don't even work.

Charcoal briquets piled high in a pie tin sized dish.

Kind of like an activated charcoal filter. Soaks up many foul odors, not just gasoline.

It the smell is almost all gone. Took the trunk matt out. Had he car sitting out all day with the windows down and trunk open. I ended up hitting it with a combo of crap. Sprayed dawn, oxiclean, vinegar, and water solution over everything. Then filed up my little bissle dog piss cleaner upper with the same solution and sprayed/sucked everything up.
