Also I dont care either way. Both platforms work.

Reddit flow just has a learning curve but allows for more detailed conversations within a topic, while keeping the main topic easier to search through and allow a more personalized browsing due to being able to ignore sub conversations to the topic that are not interesting to you.

If the grid goes down, that's the beginning of the collapse. Your paper money will be worthless.

I on the other hand shall trade with world's oldest currency... toilet paper and Bud lite
Bro, if a main payment processor just went down you'd be fucked. This isn't even grid down shit.

Shit, if the local ISP took a shit with a major hardware failurr, it could knock out a whole areas payment processors by just knocking out the network.

Stores won't take your toilet paper or bud lite in exchange.

Forums:

Topic: New Member OPs ride

OP: hey this is my car, it has yellow rims and red lights.

Person1: "cool rims, where you get them"

OP: autozone

Person2: "cool light, what color red are they?"

OP: redish red

Person1: "sweet I'll look at autozone.com"

Person2: "cool, thanks"

Reddit has the ability to collapse and ignore pieces of the conversation. Each part started by person1 and person2 can be minimized and the conversation not even looked at vs a forum where you have to scroll through all the replies. Nested conversations(reddit) vs free flowing timed sorted responses(forums)

Mook Mook the more the nested threads idea is tossed around the more it sounds interesting to test out. Do any other capabilities come with the add-on?
Afaik, just nested replies and the ability to collapse them.

It's free, so I might just add it tonight to piss people off.

It gets old in a thread when 2 or 3 people bicker about some tangent and dominate the responses with a clutter of quotes and replies. Nesting would be great to keep that from being such a distraction from the original thread.
The problem reddit has is paid upvotes and karma. Shits manipulated and censored like no other.

The upvotes I understand being useful if able to avoid abuse somehow to make good answers to questions being at the top.

Karma is tied to upvotes. Its like TCGs like score system.

Reddit/nested replies is a much better platform for responding to questions and for help topics to find the best answer quickly or gather a general consensus on a topic quickly.

But IMO forums are better for the back to back conversation. Reddit ends up segmeneting it into a bunch of 1v1 conversations under a specific topic and nobody really gets involved om the group back and forth.

While forums IMO feels like it ends up being more of a back and forth like a group of people standing in a circle facing each other.
