I went by my parents house after work last night to help clean up. Man, damage is WAY worse on their street (Everglade) than pictures do justice. My parents might have the only house on the block with zero damage. Everyone had siding missing or a tree that went through their roof.

hundreds of cars driving down the street just rubbernecking.

Lots of rain over the next couple days in the forecast. This won't end well

hopefully the ground is dry enough that the water will absorb and not flood my entire fucking backyard and make my sump pump run damn near constantly.

You don’t want it too dry, that’s when the water just runs off. Needs some dampness to it so it retains the water.

That’s how those flash floods happen out in the southwest. Ground is so hard the rain just becomes a river instead of soaking in.

I’m hoping for an hour or two of light drizzle before the heavy rain comes down. That’ll work out just fine.

Even after Sunday nights deluge... While it helped so much, I couldn't get over by Tuesday, how dry the ground was again. It absorbed it soo quickly.

This should keep me up for a few more hours. Washed the cars this evening, but knew rain was coming. Gonna be able to see how the ceramic speed shine does for water beading.

Yea, it was wet here this morning... It was one of those misty, dense kinda rains. if that makes sense.

Hit me about 2:30-3am. Was still wide awake. Watched my freshly washed vehicles get dirty. But the water beaded off sooooo nicely.
