Amp and LOC in the spare tire well.

Sealed box but itd be pretty big if i make it width of the trunk and wedge shaped so fits nice against the back of the seats.

Roughly but itll be rotated from the pic. comes out to 1.67 cubic feet unless I chop it down and just make a face plate so it fits the width of the trunk nice thats 38"?

So thoughts i need to ask.

1. Face sub forward to the seats or backwards?
2. Keep it sealed or make a ported box.

Heres reccomended sub box specs for the Type X

Thanks

Is this a 10” sub?
You will probably get more out put if the sub faces the rear of the car because of cabin gain. The response will have more peaks in it vs being flat.
Sealed will have a tighter flatter response vs ported and that’s what a lot of SQ guys use. No one uses ported in SQ.
Buy a cheap prefab box for now and position it is different ways and get a feel for what sounds best before you go through the hassle of building one.

Yes its a 10 inch sub. Type X on 1200rms.

i got a 4x8 sheet of mdf yestuday and used the box calculator for a vented box based off the reccomended specs that came with the sub.

It has specs for sealed or ported. I used 35hz for the port freq when i spec'd the box out but still unsure if i should just keep it in a smalled sealed box.

That’s why i recommend a cheap prefab box for testing.

I have not updated in a while but here is the new trunk build. Two Mosconi Pro 5 channel amps. One power the left side of the car and the other powers the right side of the car for complete channel separation. The sub is a dual voice coil 2 ohm load so it’s getting about 1100 watts per coil. ?

Damn, I am really bad at updating my own build thread. I took the mid bass speakers out of the doors because no matter what the fuck I did I was getting resonance. Maybe a rattle here and there. So much sound control shit and the mirror glass would shake, outside handle would vibrate, trim panel would buzz at certain frequency when testing.
I had to cut the carpet out in the kick panel area, lots of fiberglass and I built kick panel pods.
