Ill make this short and simple. Car isn't worth much (to the insurance company), and my dad owns a bodyshop.

Collision is a extra $150 every 6 months.

:dunno:

Better be safe than sorry, otherwise everything would be out of pocket, right? If you decide to take it off?

Ditch it. I dropped it on my gtp when I hit 100k. I've never been in an accident though and drive pretty safe.

Yes, if the accident is my fault it will come out of my pocket. But really the chances of something happening that would cost more than my deductible are low. If the car was involved in a big accident id probably not want it fixed and just part it out. IDK

You would be better served putting that 150 in an "insurance savings account".

I'd make sure you've got uninsured motorist too.

I like that idea of an "insurance fund". Good way to save cash

Insurance 6 months for GTP is now ~$160. Adding collision nearly doubles it.
