Shake Shack, not worth the money

My nephew wanted to try it yesterday.

Not impressed for the $$$. Culvers, Steak & Shake, and other smashed burger joints are either way better, or same but cheaper.

May Fuddruckers rest in peace.

For the money, I could have gone to Five Guys and had a way better burger.

Yeah if I remember right I went into the Vernon Hills one with a $20, got a single burger, cheese fries, and a lemonade and had just coins left over.

It's good, but it's definitely pricey.

We didn't think to highly of Shake Shack either.
We could have gone to Kuma's for almost the same money, and had a much better meal.

I haven't gone to the one that just opened up recently in Schaumburg, but I've been to one in Orlando. I did enjoy it over there. It was good, and everything went down smooth, although it was on the pricier side.

I used to go to Fuddruckers often when I lived up there. Great burgers. Why do the good places fail so often? Cals was another one. Much better beef sandwiches than Arby's and you see which one is still around.

They have at least two of them in Osaka that I have been to. Also at least one in Kyoto that I visited. Not all that bad but not really that good either - seemed like the burger with the bun was kind of mushy. Prices are significantly higher than the US so it's a total rip off as well.

Living in Japan tends to change your opinion about burgers because there are not a lot of places that have them American style. If they had a Five Guys around here I'd probably go there every few months but they don't exist in Japan.

Burgers are not a good use of that meat. I have bought Kobe ground burger from a local shop and made burgers with it before. They are really greasy and the grill is nearly impossible to keep from flaming up all over the place.

Went to Shake Shack once with the wife, our bill was like $38....and I thought the food was average. Will never go back.

Never quite got WHY 5 guys was popular? They suck.

This. I was upset when I found out. Usually on Friday's a co-worker and I would head over there. I'd load up my tray with hot cheese and clean out the pickle tray. Now the Downers location is the only one in the immediate area.

Get the patty melt at 5 Guys. They butter both sides of a bun and grill it up. It may be an off the menu item that you have to ask for.

They just opened a new Shake Shack out here and have been wanting to try it. After this thread, I’ll stick to Five Guys or Fuddruckers.

Yeah, that Fuddrucker's had been in Schaumburg since the mid-80's. Granted I'd only eaten there about once or twice a year in the last five years.
