Series II vs III Starter Motor

Starters

Look at "New-man" these are all new starters vs reman.
Napa new 4n5136
Napa Bosch new SR8620N
Other number 6484N/6484MSN another industry number
Other brands sell New-man units
As a tech I like new because the parts have never been overstressed or burnt. Many remans only clean and seal armatures but never rewind unless damaged.
But have had some success with reman when I use name brand like NAPA.

at the top middle you can see the "middleweight" oe SII starter at the bottom youll see the lightweight "mini" starter from the SIII

you can see the smaller bosch solenoid and motor can on the mini

early SII had a heavy starter as the 88-97ish engines had larger motor housings but the same large bosch solenoid. earlier than 91ish had the old school giant motherfuckers built like the old delco/remy starters.

iirc the mini starter is off an 06 or 07 GP
