I would have told them to come up with the $400 each that they offered, as it's legally binding since they made the offer (even if it isn't), just to fuck with them. Make them sweat a bit.

I posted my old slightly yellowed GX470 headlights for $40, all other used ones were like $200+ and had the same bullshit. $20 offers. The ONE person that said he'll come get them for $40 flaked 2 separate times with bullshit excuses so I just threw them out and sent him a picture of them in my trash can. "ohhh man, WTF I would have taken them if I knew you were just going to throw them away"
