They use it for text and call spam
You've ever gotten the calls from a number you don't recognize and nothing happens when you pick up that's them confirming that the phone number that they bought off of the person is a good number. Then you get sold on a spam list not subject to the Do Not Call Registry

I love getting spam phone calls though. My life isn't very exciting, so I will gladly waste a spammer's time until they start yelling at me and hang up.
Those calls don't actually result in them trying to sell you anything all they're looking for is for you to pick up the call so that they know that it's a good phone number they can sell.

I finally got the g/f to fuck with numbers she doesn’t recognize. She speaks multiple languages, with Russian sounding the most aggressive, so she will start there.
There have been a few times where she’ll just ask (in Russian), “how can I help you?” It flusters the caller. When they respond something in broken English she’ll come back with (in accented English) “FBI Chicago Branch, International Fraud Investigations, please state the purpose of your call.”

A lot of people that contact me about them don't even know what adjustable struts are. Lol I think most think that they are adjustable ride height opposed to compression and rebound. Oye vey
