I wish instead of going mini, they should of re-made it with modern components that can also read the old game cartridges.

Then add a GUI interface with a game store emulator to download games to play on it with local micro sd storage.

I would buy that.

The hardware itself is 80mm x 43mm x 20mm with a 1.15-inch display. There’s a single mono speaker and a headphone jack. It charges over USB but can also run off two AAA batteries.

You may be wondering how exactly you’re meant to play games on a 1.15-inch display, which makes the Game Boy Micro’s 2-inch panel sound huge by comparison. Well, if you’re willing to drop 27,255 yen (~$250) on a pack of all four consoles, Sega is including a mini version of its Big Window magnifying-glass accessory.

Remember, this is the same company that released non-functional plastic Sega CD and 32X add-ons for the Mega Drive Mini. What more appropriate way to celebrate its 60th anniversary?

I had all of the accessories. My parents hooked it up with some deluxe package setup that came in its own case to hold everything. I remember the screen and it also had like a tv/radio thing

Would be better to just make some kind of case for a phone so you could have arcade controls and write an emulator to run on Android/iOS.

A better idea would have been to add a 3rd button, call it the Game Gear Genesis or something and pack it full of actual Genesis games that were good instead of the game gear versions that sucked then and suck even harder now.

I had one, it was great, but Sega already dug themselves a hole by that time with the 32x, saturn cd and shit load of other crap add ons that were unsupported by 3rd party developers.

Sega also was banking on 2D gaming sticking around for longer. The Saturn was powerful, but too difficult to program for compared to Playstation.

Its why its so difficult to emulate as well.

Oh my god the huge magnifier. I have that too! And the huge battery pack that you screw on the back of it and adds like 4 pounds to the overall weight. the only thing i regret is I was never able to get the tv tuner. Kinda stupid that if you want all the games you have buy....4 of them.... but to be honest none of those games really do anything for me. I got all i need already w/ games like streets of rage 2, mortal kombat, road rash, sonic 2, and a couple others. I really should dig that out of my closet and see if it still works.
