Going to hit this show on Sat for sure - very interesting old race track and it sounds like the cars in attendance should be even more intriguing! Click the links to see more about the track and it's history - some cool pictures!

Meadowdale International Raceway is located within Raceway Woods near the corners of Route 31 and Huntley Road on the far Northwest Corner of Carpentersville, Illinois.
Meadowdale Raceway was a 3.27 mile road course racetrack which opened for its first race on September 14, 1958. It is interesting that only six months elapsed from the time construction permits were issued until the running of the first race. The majority of the asphalt from the track still remains. Additionally, there is a Silo which once displayed the Pure Oil logo. The Silo which was on the verge of demolition has recently and thankfully been saved and completely restored. It stands at the Route 31 entrance as a notable symbol as to what once was.

MIRPA will be pleased to accept memberships later this summer. For more information or to showcase your car, car club or to volunteer with the car event; Please contact MIRPA at 847-421-2891.

Auto Show is a GO! for Saturday, September 19.

After months of uncertainty, the road is now clear for a second car show at Meadowdale Raceway. Registration opens at 8AM; the show runs 10AM to 3PM. Show cars will enter the property via the Silo entrance on Route 31.

Spectators will park in the old main gate area south of the silo on Route 31. There will be a $10 entry fee for show cars. Spectator admission is free.

The theme for the show will be to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Meister Brauser race team. This team dominated Meadowdale and other road races during the '50s. Sponsored by the Peter Hand Brewing Co. of Chicago, they raced the latest Scarabs and Chapperals. Cars and several members of the team are expected at the show...

Sports cars, hot rods, customs and bikes of the Meadowdale era (1968 and earlier) are invited. Showcars (only) should enter the track via the entrance near the silo on Route 31, not the Huntley Rd entrance used last year. They will proceed across the new steel bridge over the little washout, and up the "Uphill", to showcar parking on the main straight. Showcars must arrive between 8 and 10 AM. The show will close at 3 PM.

Spectators may park in any of the public parking lots at either entrance. There will also be special parking available at the old track entrance about 1/4 mile south of the silo and 3/4 mile north of the Huntley Rd stoplight.

Meadowdale International Raceways Preservation Association (MIRPA) seeks to promote and preserve the history of the Meadowdale Raceway. MIRPA also plans to seek historic status for the track.

:headbang:Not part of the above show but an added bonus - there is another car show scheduled 12-4pm in Dundee, downtown just down from Rt31 and Higgins. That location is just a few miles away from the Meadowdale Raceway - so lots to see in one general location this Sat!
