sand blasting alloy rims?

for those of you that have done it, what media did you use?

i currently have our cabinet full of coarse black blast sand. pretty sure its too rough to do aluminum wheels.

if it matters, theyre 17" ZR1 wheels.

I believe you are going to want to use glass media for alum. That's what I've always used for alum. I did a set of wheels years ago and I'm pretty sure that's what I used.
