Sad day for people who like car magazines

The Motor Trend group is shutting down 19 of their magazines at the start of the year. They will be switching them to an online presence.

Here is the full list of the TEN Publishing magazines that won't be returning in 2020:

I had car craft for sooo many years and stopped about 4 years ago. I’ve had Peterson’s off-road for a long time as well because it’s like $12 for two years. I don’t think I’ve actually read one this year.

I’m convinced truck drivers keep that industry afloat. There are still some areas that don’t have the best LTE coverage.

You gotta be thinking ahead as a truck driver. You have to pick out now, what you want to "look" at later...save it to your phone for another time...just in case there isn't any service.

As soon as I started taking my phone in the shitter I had no use for magazine subscriptions. It's sad because when I was kid I loved coming home from school to a new GM Hi-Tech mag. Nothing like the first shit with a fresh mag, my legs would fall asleep.

I vividly remember someone in 5th grade finding an ad for a penis pump in the trash on the playground. Pretty sure a note went home to all parents that day. I was blessed that my uncle had subscriptions to playboy and penthouse. He kept them in chronological order under his dresser. I’d dip back a few years and take one home on occasion in the waist band of my shorts. Felt like I was trying to smuggle hash into the Philippines on the ride home with my parents.

I grew up across the street from Hidden Pond woods. My first glimpse into the adult world of porn was seeing a magazine in the garbage at the forest preserve when we were playing baseball or some other kid things there. Much better than J.C. Penney's catalog.

Even the auto trader mags have died. I happened to glance at our local town paper the other day and there was an ad for a hot rod in the classifieds...I was like “Really Boomer!?!?”

My dad used to have quite the collection back in the day. I stumbled upon them while looking for something else. I'm sure that collection is now long gone.

Sadly, I lost a ton of GMHTP, Super Chevy, PHP, Motor Trend/Automobile/R&T and other, magazines last winter when a pipe burst in the other house.

I am finding a fuckton of car brochures that I'd get at the auto show each year. Not sure what to do with them.
