how much can those things tow?

I plan on picking up a beater S-10 with the 4.3 with 4X4 and some fresh beefy tires to survive next winter and tow my hatch.

3500-5000 pounds.

They can only handle a 30x9.5x15 as the biggest tire and come stock with a 235/75R15 as a top option. Now if you get a ZR2 then you can go to a 31 or a 32" tall tire tops.

I love it, the rear axle is shorter then the fronts so we get the tracking alot tighter, Ive been able to avoid alot of shit with the way they handle.

I'd imagine 30" worth of tire is plenty to haul my ass out of snow and mud and cornfields.

any idea on what the 2.8 v-6s can pull?

or should I just stay away from those?

Id get a 4.3, they are alot more reliable then the 2.8L. Ive had a 2.8 in my 85 s-10 blazer and it brke down often, my 4.3 has only needed a starter and a tune up so far, its got 160k on it and its all original, no leaks and starts every morning on the first crank.

The 2.3 im not sure on the towing cap.

I have the 30" tires now, they do just fine in yanking my out of shit.

my bro had a 96 Sonoma ZR2, we beat the shit outa that thing too. I jumped all 4 tires off the ground on 2 occasions.

i eventually plan on getting one to build into a trail rig, drop my trucks 5.3 in it and upgrade my truck to a 6.0. ...but that projects about 5 years out still...damn

Id just love to have the Sy/Ty engine.
Me and my buddy that used to work with me one day we thought of, how badass would it be to pull the engine/trans out of a Sy/Ty and stick it into an AWD Safari/Astro.
