TV Rescue Me

Finally completed the series last night. I thought the show started off awesome and then halfway through kind of got stale.

I mean the jokes were consistently funny but the story itself just repeated every episode. Season 7 felt rushed and unfinished and lazy, especially the finale. Seemed like they were completely out of ideas but they kept getting money to make the show so they rolled with it. Was kind of a let down after investing many weeks of binge watching.

Loved rescue me when it was on. Pushed a lotta boundries at the time thats now become the "norm" for most shows these days Great show, but unfortunately got stuck w/ the damn writers strike right in the middle of the series, and it was just never the same afterwards.

Agreed. The show was pretty damn good. Plus Denis Leary comedy thrown. Hard show to pass up.

The last season was alright, but come on. The scene in the truck on the way to spread the ashes was pretty damn funny, and not many shows besides Rescue Me could pull that off.

The on again off again with Sheila and Janet was rough after a few seasons.

I loved rescue me. I have all 7 seasons. Mook is right, season 1 through about 5 were awesome and for what ever reason half way through 5 on was a hit and miss. Good show though.

FX has been really good at finding good shows to air.
I'm currently rewatching Justified and Archer

Rescue Me was a bad ass show and I thought ended well. A few of those scenes with Denis Leary's Binge Drinking and "visits" were pretty intense

Rescue Me did a great job at creating a connection to the characters. By the end of the series I felt like I actually worked in that firehouse.

Yeah... When they're doing actual firefighter stuff its pretty good, but everything in between that, like...the acting...the dialogue....the plot....are all horrible I still watch it tho. And chicago PD. It's kinda cool how the 2 shows integrate w/ each other most of the time. But man can it get cringeworthy when they try to bring "drama" into the storyline.
