i hope....i will bungie the battery to the firewall if need be.
we're ready to pull the front drivetrain, rad, ic heat exchanger, fuel cell and icetank, etc and final weld the tabs to spray the front chassis black.
rear needs fuel system but we can tee into the temporary front
trunk lid finally closes and opens properly.....converted to use 00+ impala/W body high clearance rear trunk hinges a while back but finally got it fit right
We're still looking at getting it down on its Wheels this summer. Maybe we'll tow it over to chubbs
Once this gets fully welded I get to cut off the throttle body flange at the proper upward angle to have the throttle body and Maf/filter Point straight at the middle of the driver's side back window opening
Don't tell fat Kevin but I have a drawing version of that knuckle that uses the multi-link upper control arm design similar to what his Audi uses. It would let me turn the turbo Regal from a Macpherson strut vehicle to a 3 link SLA suspension.
It was a side project from the old but it's been lending me to a couple ideas with the Oldsmobile going to a multi link suspension since it gives us better scrub geometry with a kpi we cant swing with our brakes offset.....for some big shoes under the front fenders.... while not losing too much turning radius
Probably just going to run single 3in turn down for now for a quick and simple. But yesterday I found some exhaust tips I had sitting in a bin.... I knew I had some dual 3 in tips but apparently I only have one of them. So I finally got around to mocking it up and this is definitely what we like for the solution to fill out the bumper.
Keep in mind it's balanced on a board with a vise grip so it's not quite centered or at the right elevation but you get our general idea.... probably even stagger The slash cuts to match the curve of the bumper. I think I'd also space the barrels about three quarters of an inch apart to better fill out the opening.
I like this idea a lot but for expedient being able to drive it this summer it's just getting single 3inch turn downs on the ends of the rams horn pipe propped against the jackstand
