Mook is going to kick me in the balls for all the gun posting activity today... but here goes anyway...
Jokerzl just posted a pic of his MRO, which leads me to ask the question - what's the best location for red dot optics on a rail? Full forward toward the barrel, or full backward to allow larger field of view through the optic?

Red dot have unlimited eye relief so they can be mounted anymore but mine always go dead center of the hump. If I move it back or forward my 50 yard 200 yard and hold overs all change. I shouldn't say they change but the feel of the hold over changes.

Whatever works for you

You want it where the Dot comes in quickest (When Drawing) at the lowest light setting your eye can pickup

Jokerz is where you should have it, especially if you are using a magnifier and/or you have an astigmatism. It shouldn't affect the holdovers on an Eotech reticle.

The further out you have it, the less fuzzy the dot should become. It's not a problem with my Eotechs or my MRO, but it does make a HUGE difference with my H1/T1s.

Also, the reduced field of vision with a micro compared to a Comp M4 or an Eotech is a non-issue. You should be shooting with both eyes open and the housing should "disappear."

Nice rifles, BTW, boys.

A few of mine
