Is this the best forum for this?

Hitches, can you guys check my math here. So I get 19 inches from the bottom of the shank to the ground, like this. So then I need this right?

19"-21" requires 6" drop/rise hitch.

So I should get this one? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Q5VJ3TF/?tag=tcg21-20

I don't own a car open trailer I'll be renting and borrow/renting. :)

I think I'm going to go by a local buddy and do some measuring off his trailer tomorrow.

thinking past this really quick.. you have a zr2 though right? aren't those capped at like 5k towing?

if it's an aluminum trailer and your yellow camaro you should be good.... steel trailer and your fifth gen youll be way over.

Yeah I think cry once and get an adjustable.

I'm going to swing by a buddy's shop and measure off his open car trailer. I think I will typically need between a 3" and 4" drop.

I have a 2018 ZR2 and I know guys towing over 5K and they are fine. I think with a 3000 lb car and 2000 lb steel trailer I'll be okay.

definitely get an adjustable...

you can't really just measure where it's at though, you kinda need a load on it and a load on your truck cuz it will change everything.

id be surprised if a tandem axle 7k gvwr steel car trailer is 2k lbs

18 footers are like 1900-2300 depending on how many options and who is making it. Guy I raced with in lemons had just a tank of a 20 footer that clocked in at 2500 with a 2100lb car plus wheels/fuel/tools etc. Was right at the limit of the ridgeline (5k) since his tahoe was broken. I really did not enjoy that trip.
