One of the twins is at a sleepover tonight, so we thought we’d watch a movie in the basement, other twin turns on Disney+ and I figure she’s would appreciate Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, so we turn it on.

Decent 4k stream available on Disney+. I know it’s dated, I haven’t watched it myself in probably 25 years but I remember it being decent. Boy was I wrong!

Acting is bad. Effects aren’t special at all. Pacing is horrible. I don’t know if Temple of Doom or Last Crusade hold up, but this one sure didn’t. And who know how shitty Crystal Skull is now, I remember hating it in theaters.

What a waste of 2 hours.

Bruh, it was filmed in like 1981.

I watch it every year or 2. Phenomenal.

I like Last Crusade better, but it's in the pantheon of films.
We were all aware of when it was made. It doesn’t hold up, sorry. But like the OG Star Wars trilogy, I can barely make it though them, the pacing just doesn’t hold up on those classics either.

Just saying, it's over 40 years old, you can't expect the CGI or visual effects to be awesome.
The pacing and overall acting don’t hold up either. I’ve watched some classics recently that while the pacing isn’t great, the dialog, acting and story hold up.

Sorry, Raiders doesn’t hold up.

Oh please. Do tell. Which classics.
Recently I’ve watched for the first time: 12 Angry Men and The Great Dictator. 12 Angry Men was fantastic. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050083/

The Dictators story was bad but the acting was decent. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0032553/

I also watched A Patch of Blue for the first time, the story doesn’t hold up, but again acting wasn’t bad.

Other shitty movies I’ve seen for the first time in 2023, those most of these are cheesy “horror” that I had never seen and wasn’t expecting much:

The Beastmaster, fucking horrible even with boobs in it a few times.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space. Just bad

Eraserhead. The thing was creepy, but aside from that, it was bad.
