Sticking with their 90s theme apparently...

https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/buying-maintenance/g6951/cheap-dream-cars/

1. Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 (C4)
Today, they're shockingly cheap with tons of examples under $30,000 and some under $20,000. To be fair, that's C5 Corvette money, but the ZR-1 still makes a strong case for itself.

2. Toyota MR2 Turbo
...but closed eBay listings indicate they're still available for under $10,000.

3. Aston Martin DB7
Shockingly, you can get an Aston Martin DB7 for well under $40,000 if you look hard enough.

4. Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo
You can one in fantastic shape for around $20,000, and there are plenty of decent examples that cost less.

5. Chevrolet Corvette (C5)
For around $15,000 or less, you can get your hands on a C5 Corvette, which is an incredible value.

6. Lotus Esprit

Esprit prices have stayed in the $20,000 to $30,000 range, but budget a lot for maintenance.

7. Porsche 968

In general, 968s aren't all that plentiful, but at the time of writing, there's a handful around $20,000 listed on eBay.

8. Mercedes-Benz SL600
V12-powered Mercedes-Benzes are incredibly expensive when new, but you can get a 1990s SL600 for well under $20,000 now.

9. BMW M3 (E36)
The first-generation M3, the E30, has risen in price dramatically over the last three or so years, but its successor, the E36, is still somewhat of a bargain.

10. Dodge Viper
...but look hard enough and you can probably pick up a mid-1990s roadster in the $30,000 range. Hell. We've even seen them for $10,000, though don't expect greatness at that price.

11. Porsche Boxster (986)
It's possible to find a good one for under $10,000, which seems like a steal.

12. Mitsubishi 3000GT
Even the top-of-the-line all-wheel drive 3000GT VR4 can be found under $15,000.

You can get a mid-late 2000's Vantage for $40,000. IDK why anyone would want a 90's DB7 lol.

968 and MR2 Turbo are two I don't see much love for these days, but I love them both to death.

The list seems to only include cars that were always available in the US.

With the C4 ZR1, you may be able to buy into them fairly affordably. Trying to get parts specific to the LT-5 though... They get costly.
