A buddy of mine finished his "Cumm-Burban" late last year. He already blew up the clutch... literally.

I realize the gas savings potential of the 4BT, but I would have tried for the 6.

Same here. You'll spend the same money doing a 6bt swap IMO and get two more cylinders and the same if not better fuel economy. Especially when towing.

I thought someone makes a Kmember to drop in a 6BT into these. Or maybe its the older body style.

I saw one of those swaps before, I always thought it would be cool to swap at 4bt into my dads 97 astro but would be alot of work. As wel speak my floor is shaking from a new 4bt in the dyno cell. Im not a huge fan of them because they are really rattely motors compared to all of the other cummins motors due to having little internal balancing. They make some serious torque for only being a 3.9-4.5 litre motor though
