I got a 3 year old Samsung 4k TV with preinstalled apps for like Netflix and Amazon, i don't think it will allow me to DL it.

Yeah, but TV's with built in apps don't really work as well as a dedicated streaming device. Plus with a dedicated device you can move it around from TV to TV.
