No. My point was I thought paying $1200 for a Titan was retarded when the Titan was the king of all GPUs.

Now you’re paying $2000 for a card that ISNT the king of GPUs.

Fucking retarded.
And I wouldn't.

I paid $1300 for the 3080 Ti + tax.

Normally, I wouldn't pay the $1300 for the Ti at all, I don't need that extra performance (which isn't much). I'd instead get the regular 3080 for $700 (which is already expensive).

But I can't find a 3080 at $800, or even $1000, or even $1300.

So, if I've got to spend big boy money on a GPU, a 3080 Ti at the already ass rape $1300 is okay, even though I'm not happy.

What I will do however, is turn around and sell my RTX2080 in this market for what I can get for it. We'll see.

I mean “you” not you. Just crazy what people are paying. For $1300 I would consider it but only because I know I could turn around same day and double my money to idiots on Reddit.
I know you meant the royal You and not me.

Yeah, I could probably turn it around and nearly make 50% on that. But I've had enough problems getting one, and honestly, I don't want to be the ass that turns it around and rapes someone else.

If I could confirm that I was raping some crypto mining asshole who is buying all the cards up, I'd rape away.

My friend and have floated the following idea, but haven't looked into it at all other than kicking the idea around.

To become a reseller and start buying and selling them. Then let some of your friends buy the cards off you at cost.

GPU should be here today, FedEx Delayed it. WTFH!L@K#)FJSDKF

But in preparation, here are 3 3dMark benchmarks from the previous versions of the gaming PC.

4790k + RTX2080
5800x + RTX2080
5800x + RTX2080 (CPU+GPU OC)

The OC was worth about 5fps, so in the end, other than benchmarking it, I chose to lose the 5fps in favor of lower temps and longer life.

Soooooooooon. Sadly box has a dent on the corner so its no longer picture perfect. But its not crushed or anything to the point I think the card is damaged inside.

LoL, I decided to kill the 2080.

Cyberpunk benchmark, Psycho Ultra Ray-traced setting with 5120x1440 and no DLSS.

3.51fps lmao.

From unplayable at uber settings, to playable if not great for FPS. But if I turn on DLSS and things that will more than double the FPS while keeping all the pretty ray-tracing on.

Dang, that's a heck of an uplift.

Averaging 50%-80% more FPS across the board.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider went from 65fps to 110fps
3dMark went from ~70fps to ~130fps.

Also, iRacing went from like 150-200fps to Almost 300fps. It was hitting the 240hz limiter constantly with Vsync on.

Yeah, they said the Ultra version was ~2lbs heavier due to the thermal cooling needed.

I'd have been happy with an M1 Pro (base specs) with some additional ports, 16GB ram, and 1TB NVMe. If that had come in around $1400-1500 I'd have gotten it. Granted the Studio starts at $1999 with the M1 Max, 32GB, but only 512 NVMe. So much stronger SoC and more memory, but I just don't need that much, and can't see spending $1300 for a standard M1 with 16GB/1TB.

Exactly. So to get the M1 Pro the cheapest price point is the 14 MBP, with 16/512 at $1999. For $2199 you can go to the 1TB. Okay, that's the same cost as the Studio with the M1 Max and 32/1TB. So they're not making it easy for people to decide.

I'll probably wait until the 14"MBP's hit the Apple Refurb store and get one then. I was hoping they'd hit after 90 days, but now it's looking like it'll be 180 days (from original release).

So, Riddle me this Batman's.

Display randomly losing signal to the GPU. Screen goes blank, audio stops, then it re-syncs, and the display shows the HUD menu as if I had just switched inputs, or the resolution changed.

Sounds like a bad cable, or a bad port on my new 3080Ti. Moved the cable to a new port on the GPU, problem didn't go away. Hope its not the 3080Ti, I'll be pissed.

Though I'd think if it was the GPU, it should happen in any game. But it ONLY happens when playing Cyberpunk 2077, no other game triggers this behavior.

Not Doom Eternal, not Control, not Halo, etc..l list goes on. Not any other game I tried. Not at the windows desktop.

Made no changes today. And had no issues. I had msi afterburner running the whole time so I could watch the logs.

I was logging heat, load%, and power.

GPU power says 340w pegged soon as I started it up. CPU hovered around 80-100w.

That’s only ~2/3rd the way there to my 750w budget.

New DP HBR3 cables comes tomorrow. Certified for 8k@60hz.

Wish my monitor had hdmi 2.1 since the TI has hdmi 2.1 out.
