Well, I give up.

Can't clone the disk, DISM just hits 49% and stays there, will not move. DISM logs have shit-tons of errors.

Calling the disk Dead, will replace it and install Windows Fresh.

I have been using a external USB for File History, and my profile was included in File History, so I can get all the files back, and probably most of my preferences.

Just, Annoyed. Will boot from PartedMagic and check the SMART data for the drive eventually. For now, just going to replace the drive and install Windows fresh.

This morning I created a custom Windows Image just because I'm trying to figure out what fucking update is causing this issue.

Driving me insane, because once it applies and fails to boot, it cannot be uninstalled.

At least it makes it faster for testing because I don't have to install anything again, and it boots straight to Audit mode.

Just disabled Windows Updates ability to download/update Drivers. However, NOPE. It looks like its still pulling down drivers. Betting it nukes itself again after this reboot.

May just have to disable updates entirely for a while.

It only applies if you have a AMD based system. Not sure if its Ryzen specific.

Its anything that gets this driver: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. - SCSIAdapter - 9.3.0.221

Do NOT install that driver. Download the Windows Update Show/Hide tool and hide it.
Oh good, I'm safe, I have an eight year old Intel ?

Holy hell this is a crap ton of Server for the money. For anyone familiar with storage pricing this price is damned good. From an enterprise point of view I'd buy one of these right now.

20 Core Xeon, 432TB Storage, 6.4TB NVMe Cache, 384GB of RAM, 4x 100GBit Ethernet for $45k.

Finally going to retire my e8500 core2duo

Picked up a free.99 computer

Antec 300 case
I5-2400
16gb of ddr3 (4x4gb)
250gb Samsung evo850 (from my old pc)
1.5TB WD green (from old pc)
Nvivda 8600GT (from old pc)

So far I’m loving the the new pc. I cleaned up layers and layers of dust and webs. Ordered up some new case fans and will be installing them because two fans make some awful noises.

If I grab a newer video card. Maybe I can do light gaming.

Fuck, the Ryzen 7 5800x is on sale, down to $370. I paid $430 a few months ago.

Thats the price it should have been from the beginning IMO. Especially since there was no 7 or non X 6 released.

However, they just announced the 5600G and 5700G with onboard graphics. The 5700G is basically the equivalent of last gens 3700X but with Vega8 on board. Ill be waiting to see the price of that.
