TFL did an MPG loop, towing and empty, 6.4 vs 6.2 3/4 tons. The 6.2 did 1 MPG better towing, but they were nearly identical empty.

Obviously that's just one source, but I don't think the economy would be THAT different.

Ford doesn't offer the 6.2 in the 1/2 ton and I don't think the 6.4 comes in the 1/2 either

F150 engine lineup is, 3.3 V6 NA, 2.7 Ecoboost, 5.0 V8 NA, 3.0 V6 turbodiesel, 3.5 Ecoboost (varying power levels I believe)

From what I’m reading / videos, the Tundras 5.7 crew cab 4x4 averages 14 - 15 mpgs combined

If true, that’s 1,333 gallons of fuel for every 20k Miles. Using $3 a gal, that’s $4k a year in fuel if you drive 20k miles per year like some of us do.

20 mpg truck using the same miles is $3k a year in fuel.

Approx $80 / month variance

But seriously, I've always at least entertained fuel economy into vehicle purchases. If not necessarily for cost, but for range.
