I know there is no 'actual' price, I asked nicely if I could post anyhow and the request was blessed.

Two rare-ass 1986 Pontiac Aerocoupes FS in Wisconsin.

Think Monte Carlo SS with that bubble rear window they had for just one year for NASCAR.
This is the Pontiac version and I know we have just a 'few' Pontiac fans here and I wanted to share.

Enjoy!

bump.

I'm a bit surprised that this thread did not generate any discussion.

Too weird of a Pontiac?

Too cool and everyone not showing their hand as they battle for ownership?

I know I want these cars but have not time or space for the project.

I had one a long time ago. They are often way over-priced because of perceived collectability. What I mean is people think they must be worth a lot because they only made about 1200 of them and they were for NASCAR homogulation. But when come time to find a buyer, no one is willing shell out what people think they are worth.

They are like Hot Air Grand Nationals (1984/85) - cool cars, but they don't have the top tier drivetrain that commands the big money. Not only did the 2+2 have a 305, but it was the low output 305. Pontiac couldn't justify the EPA testing required to put the Monte SS's HO 305 in a low production car.

I loved the looks and handling, but it was way underpowered. The trunk is useless.

Great car for a LS swap or Buick V6 swap. And keep the paint scheme, but in some other color than grey. Way too many were keep in pristine condition to justify restoring either of these, IMO.

Monte Aerocoupe was two years BTW.

It’s been one of my favorite 80’s cars. I’ve posted pics of it I think in the domestic hotness thread.
