Got the middle piece of floor tacked in from the bottom. Will put a few welds on it and seam seal the rest. The part under the transmission is removable. I had to clearance cut it for the trans pan. I will weld a drop down to it

Also started making the rear tin templates out of cardboard. These will be aluminum or carbon, so I need to weld some tabs in place to rivet them to

So my tuner told me I need more fuel pump and injector. Guess it’s gonna make more power than I thought. Going from 13gpm/575# to a new Waterman 20gpm pump from Motion Raceworks and Billet Atomizer 800 lb/hr injectors from my buddy. He even included 2 spares cause these dumb big injectors like to get stuck open or closed a lot lol. They don’t have any basket filters on the top. I had one of mine stick open on first start up from new fuel system debris.

Also got one of the wheel tubs made. I first made it out of a cardboard template. I laid that over the fiberglass tub and traced where to cut so it fits against the inside of the fender

Majorly expensive fuel injectors fail a lot. No big deal.

Glad to see more progress. I can't wait to see this thing making some power pulls & passes.

$430 each isn’t expensive
/Pratt

They’re fucking stupid. But the only option. Unsticking them is super easy tho... just blow air backwards thru it. If that doesn’t work, cycle it with a 9v while blowing air lol

You cheap tho. I would have guessed you'd run 5 sets of used 42 pound injectors instead of buying these. Hahaha

Just hope one doesn't stick open at idle and hydrolock the motor. Then they will get gargantuanly expensive. Haha

Started working on this turd bucket again. Finishing up the last of the tin work. Figured I’d show an example of how these panels are made

First made a cardboard template. This is for the panel in front of the driver wheel tub

IMG_9979.jpg

Flattened template and transferred it to 24ga steel. NHRA minimum thickness

IMG_0006.jpg

Cut out and bead rolled the center for strength

Bent on the lines

Voila

Still need to drill some holes around the edges to spot weld it in place, and rivet to the fiberglass tub
