Rattle canned the firewall. Put the front suspension on and engine and trans in. Made this thing a roller to scale it and figured I'd snap some pics too. First time I've gotten to see it mostly complete and I like

Rolled some bead things in the floor pans. Only fucked one corner up lol. Will try and fix it with a hammer and dolly. Gotta clean some things up and weld them in

Also finished tacking one side of exhaust together. Wastegate dump will go out the fender as well I'm thinking.

I made a template of the fender hole and copied it to the passenger side. Now I just need to mirror copy the bullhorn

My friend made a fuel cell outlet for me. He took the bulkhead fitting and turned it into a barb fitting in the lathe

Also got my new valve cover breathers. Quick release fittings so I can put a shop vac on the engine between passes

Plan this week is to get an intake manifold. And blow apart the turbo kit to finish weld it

Intake fab has begun. I cut it up a long time ago but finally jig saw hacking it back together

This started as a carb intake. The goal is to equalize runner length and air distribution

There still needs to be some porting and cleanup on the inside. A flange is getting welded on the top so a fabricated aluminum plenum can bolt on. We made a pizza box version to check hood clearance. It's close, might need to tweak it

And the 123mm throttle body fits like a glove

Got most of the turbo kit welded. Used a tee and 2 regulators to back purge the stainless. Plugged the ends with tape or aluminum foil (depending how close welding was). This burns through a lot of gas, but at least there's no crystal boogers on the inside

I used .045" filler on the butt welds. So much better than the 1/16 I used on the flanges.

My buddy also helped install the driver floor. Ready for some seam sealer and paint

And I made an electronics panel out of carbon fiber and an aluminum frame. There will be a couple smaller boxes mounted as well

Finally got an intake done...

Started out as a carb intake. Welded new fuel injector bungs in. Made huge 1" fuel rails with -12 oring fittings lol. Top is a removable sheet metal upper with a 123mm vband throttle body. There's also a bust panel on top.

Started connecting the turbos to the throttle body. First up is a merge pipe- dual 3" to 5"

79899d0ec23ad8004db945ee8a138a81.jpg

Welded that together and put some Chinese dual o ring flex clamps on it

And then played with making the rest. I need to get some 3" straight tubing I think

I haaaate that it's not symmetrical

Damn , you must have alot of free time to do all the work yourself . Not much left from the Cobra chassis. Great skills to do all that by yourself

Yea it spiraled out of control.
I wasted so much time cutting the chassis up. Next car I build I'm starting with an aftermarket body. Would save so much time

The app won't let me quote correctly. Anyways....

"I hate that it's not symmetrical" - pj

There is an easy solution for that...

:s00ls:

Also, 1" fuel rails. What size feed line will you have to them?

Symmetrical solution = man blower on top?

The fuel pump and filter are all -12
I then have a -12 to dual -10 Y fitting that will feed the rails.
I need -10 rails but Race part solutions only had 8 and 12 raw rails so I obviously went for the wow factor

I blew the car apart for powder coat and cerakote a while ago. Starting to get things back and assembling it. Here's a random picture dump

I finished the firewall and engine bay, and painted it all black while I had time

Made fuel lines this week. Using earls ultra pro hoses for the first time. Fucking amazing. Cuts with a razor blade and super easy to assemble... And works with all fuels
