Started making pizza box floor templates. These will get transferred to .032" steel and bead rolled and then welded in

The passenger side gets a mirror copy of that. And then the middle section will be a removable aluminum belly pan I've shown before I think

Also got the driver door hinge on. Did not go as smooth as passenger side. Might need some tweaking

Well driver door hinge needs to get raised. I measured height off the rocker panel to copy from passenger side... They're shaped different from side to side and fucked me up [emoji38]

Put a spacer in the hinge for now and my buddy trimmed the front clip for me so it matches the door. We made some dzus tabs and attached the rear edge of the clip to the body. There will be a frame and hook system that hold the front half in

We used machine screws and fender washers to hold the panels in place and make a gap

I also finished mounting the back of the trunk using the same style dzus frames- custom bent 1/4" chromoly with a tab welded on

And I drilled holes for the wing mounts.

The wing is held on with clecos, cause they're fucking awesome

I need to finish mounting the front clip, but I can't decide on how to do that. So I will probably continue doing other stupid things like the rear bumper and parachute mount

Rear bumper is mounted, and hole is drilled for the parachute hitch thing

Taking a hole saw to bumper was scary lol

You can see the trunk dzus tabs in place now too

Tack welded a dual chute tab on it

And had some quick fun with cardboard on the side plates. Gonna change the shape a bit before I make it in aluminum. But this is general idea

Bought this laser cut dual chute mount. Some zip ties and creativity were used to hold it in place in the air while I bent up some small tubing last night and tacked it together. It bolts to the lower tether mount, and then will quick pin into the upper tube for removal

I still need to add some X bracing and fully weld it

Mildly busy weekend avoiding the snow. Triangulated the chute mount with more 3/8 chromoly tubing. Plenty strong now, I hope. Then took it all apart, finish welded it, and rattle canned black

Also took this time to finish weld the parachute tether tube. Need to gusset this somehow as this is what the chutes pull on at 170 mph lol

Installed the actual chutes. Broke some tiny stainless screws. Apparently 10-32 screws don't like impacts [emoji38]... Stole screws from my steering wheel and continued on

And laid the rear lexan in place for no reason

cc5c666a1eca99e55bcc4afb1958c984.jpg

Then started mounting the front clip. There will be a tubular skeleton thing glued to the carbon fiber. It will slide into these fork things on the chassis. Should make more sense later

Do the chutes come off easily enough for street driving this thing? lol

When does the engine go for machine work / assembly? Do you have a new goal for this thing to run?

No street duty..........

Engine ready to rock n roll. Just needs an intake manifold built. Trans needs some dump valves from Dave to go fast but could be run as is

Racing the Cordova no time series this summer starting in May. 26" prepped class

Got the front clip skeleton tacked in place. Need to add 2 braces but you get the idea now. The skeleton is welded together and the plates will be panel bonded to the carbon fiber. It then hooks into those jaws on the chassis

And got my rocker panels. They need to be trimmed and mounted. But here's a test fit. Car gonna be useless low. Love it

PJ's small tire twin turbo fuck your face 04 cobra build named eeeeeyore

Made some filler panels this weekend to connect the stock firewall to the mid plate hoop/cage. Cut and bent some .032" steel and brazed it in with a tig welder and silicon bronze rod.

Here's a pic of one of the filler prices, and the firewall mostly complete. Gonna throw some mud on it and rattle can it tonight

Oh yea. Top of the frame rails are smoothed now. And the ignition coil brackets are welded on them near the tires
