So much sanding and welding. I'm sick of it... And no where close to done yet

So I've welded over 120 joints so far and it's 95% complete. I've started adding all the required corner gussets, and triangulating the double frame rail

I took advantage of an eBay 20% off sale and picked up a brake pedal and master cylinder set

cap42 is my hero. He came over with an english wheel and made a gas door delete on the first try. I learned a little bit about body work, and I now need an air nibbler!

So I paid the nhra inspector to come look at the cage now before I put the body on. He said everything looks great and gave me the blessing to move forward. Huge relief I don't need to start over from a stupid mistake lol

My friend Dale helped me with two projects. We got the fuel pump mounted on the front, driven off the camshaft actually. So no belts to worry about

We also made some shock brackets on the cnc plasma table. There is a 1.5" chromoly tube running across everything as a brace

He now has my front bumper. Hoping to get all the holes filled in on it from the previous owners turbos. Should look sick when done

And then I cut up my stock floor. I removed it in one piece, and don't need the trans tunnel. So I rough cut the two sides and mocked it up. There will be an aluminum removable floor in the middle. Hoping the interior looks decent when all done

BeerOrGasoline and I been trying to get the body ready for paint (interior not exterior). And I've been trying to finish all the cage welding so that can get painted the same black. Then they'll get reunited for good via forklift

Got trunk dzus tabs tacked on. Needs more, the back is sagging and there isn't even a wing hanging off yet lol

There was a huge gap between the trunk and rear window. Discovered I was missing a rubber trim/seal. Got one from Ford for $30, they magically still have parts for these turds

Cut out the master cylinder reinforcement and filled all the holes on the firewall...

Then cut out everything above and forward of the pinch weld lol. Car is so floppy and naked up there. It will all tie back into the cage later

And then Dan did work removing all the stupid window sealant, rubber, glue junk. Lexan will rivet or screw in place around the perimeter, no glue needed
