Private Internet Access is our readers’ favorite VPN service, thanks in part to having lower prices than most of the competition. Starting on March 18 though, the company is raising its prices for the first time ever, while also doubling its device connection limit from five to ten.

The new prices:

1 month: $9.99 (up from $6.95)
1 year: $71.88 (up from $39.95)
2 years: $83.87 (up from $69.95)
Those are pretty significant price hikes, but the company will allow active customers to continue renewing their account for whatever they were previously paying, meaning this week is a great time to sign up, if you don’t already have a VPN service.

Our readers can enjoy even better prices than the public through the following links:

One month for $5.95 | Usually $6.95
One year for $34.95 | Usually $39.95
Two years for $59.95 | Usually $69.95
Three years for $90 | Not offered to the general public at all

So I can keep paying $40/year if I read this right?

Correct that is how I read it. This is just an offer for either new users or old users that didn't get a deal on initial sign up.

Update: Today is the last day to take advantage of these lower prices.

Three year plans aren’t available to the general public at all, but if you click this link, you can get three years for $99, which works out to just $2.75 per month. That’s only $9 more than it was cost to the price hike, and while shorter plan lengths are available, none come close to the per-month pricing of this three-year membership. For example, the publicly available two-year plan costs about $84, and a month-to-month plan will set you back $10 per month.

If you subscribe to the three-year plan today, you’ll be able to continue to renew it at the same price for the life of your subscription, so this is a great chance to lock in a a terrific deal.
