Is it me, or does that axle look WAYYY far back in the bed?

It is. I think that's the camper package or something along those lines, puts some of the weight of a large slide-in on the front axle. Could be totally wrong.

I was wondering the same thing. Not that I’m going to buy the truck as much as I’d love to. Just curious. I Googled Excursion Cummins swaps and I’ve seen a few that use the OEM Ford trans and others that used the Cummins trans.

I would Never expect it to be a dodge trans.

The Ford trans built right would hold that engine perfectly fine
