Well not that I need more sleds. These just kind of popped out at me. I saw a 1990 Phazer on Facebook Marketplace for $450. I thought to myself, wow is someone actually selling something that does not have a inflated price. Then I saw "does not run, needs carb clean, bla bla bla". BUT in the background I saw what looked to be a minty excel 340 that was identical to the one I own already. I messaged the guy under the Phazer ad. IS ThE 340 FoR sALe? He said possibly and he also has an Enticer 250. My interest was peaked. I have been looking for a reasonably priced 250 for a friend up north so his kids can race in the 250cc or less class. They are pretty hard to find because people like to use them for racing, and are less common than 320. Obviously, prices are super inflated this season so neither him or me were interested in paying inflated prices. Seller said the 340 runs and drives and is very nice, BUT it does not run perfect. He said it bogged. Not a huge deal, probably needs a carb adjustment or clean. The 250 does not run and has never under his ownership. 250 is in rough shape but both sleds are complete. We went back and forth for a while because I really don’t need any more sleds and one that is identical to one I have already. But since these were not for sale publicly yet I figured this might be my best chance to buy some sleds for a reasonable price. Next morning he posted them for sale on FB marketplace and It kind kicked my butt in gear. I messaged him and went to take a look early evening.

The 250 was in rough shape. Very rough. I was pretty pissed the hood was cracked but it did have non cracked hood vents and those are worth $100 easy and very hard to find. But it was priced right and if anything was a nice parts sled for my buddy up north. The 340 was very clean. Nice seat, nice hood, clean suspension and motor. Someone obviously kept it inside and covered for years. 1700 miles. It looked identical to my Excel but looked to be another model with less options because it didn’t have an RPM gauge or electric start. Kind of weird but after looking up the VIN it seems they did make them without electric start. Well, we couldn’t get it to start. It would run on spray. Not sure what the issue was. Maybe out of gas? The guy said it did run the other day before the snow. Even showed a video. The pictures also you can see it was running. Maybe it was just too cold out as it was probably 10 outside. Plugs, carb clean, fresh gas and probably good to-go. Guy gave me a good price for both, and we loaded both dead sleds on the trailer. Not sure if I will keep the 340 or not. It’s a good flip candidate since it is so clean and probably isn’t going to take much to get it running again. Needs a windshield and one hood strap. Both I had in stock also.

81 250
83 340

If you wanna sell any of these, I'd gladly walk over to your house with cash. Gunna start needing to accumulate big boy toys for the kid.

Not for sale just yet but I will keep an eye out for kids snowmobiles. Been trying to find a kitty cat for a friend to no avail. Shits expensive now.

I'm over the kid sled bullshit. I'll gladly grab a 250 and physically limit the throttle to show him how to ride.

250's are hard to find. Here is another local one but $1500 not running and a stupid paintjob. fuck

Let me rephrase. A smaller motor is fine. 250, 350, old school 440, I don't care. It's just fucking stupid to pay $2000+ for a kid's sled that he will grow out of when I could buy an older full sized sled that anyone can bomb around in and he can ride.

Anyway. Are you flipping these or are you turning into a hoarder?

My buddy Nick in Fort Atkinson has a pair of 250 Bravo's he just went through and fixed yup to sell. New windsheilds and seat covers, carb cleans, etc Let me know if u want more info or his contact before he puts them on the market.

Well I gifted the 250 to a friend and sold the 340 for $1000. Not a bad flip for doing nothing to the sled. Well actually I put half gallon of fresh gas in, changed the plugs, and reset the AIR screw to factory setting. (about $8) It runs alot better but not perfect. I could have probably sold it for a few hundred more if I did a carb clean, replaced windshield, and detailed it up. But its too cold to be dealing with water right now and who knows what the market would be like in the spring. The 340 was very clean, but it didnt have electric start, and was identical to my other one. Id probably would have kept it if it was another color.

Northwoods still has snow on the ground and lakes still have 20+ inches of ice but it is spring, right? I attended the "Junker Sled weekend" in Three Lakes back in February. Jesus, that looked like a shitfest for people racing. It's basically any sled under 400cc that is $500 or less. It's pretty much Enticers and 400 Polaris sleds. The Northwoods people live for this event and it's really an awesome turnout. My old 340 Excell that I sold to a friend up there was raced (17x in pictures) and supposedly did pretty well. Maybe that aftermarket big 3/4 inch lug track gave it an advantage? The motor from the 250 I gifted to a friend who also races in this event was removed and installed into his friend's kids' sled when that one had carb issues the day before the race. He texted me and asked if I had a 250/300 carb for him to barrow for the races. I said yeah let me remove it from my 300. Nah man that's too hard. Next thing I know they are swapping motors. Not sure. But at least it lived on and helped a kid to continue racing. Sounds like he is going to build up that 250 for next year's Junker Races.

Three classic 1980 Yamaha snowmobiles in good condition available for sale individually or as a group. They have been together for 42 years, so preference would be to keep them together.

1. 250 Enticer - $5,000
2. 340 Exciter - $6,000*
3. 440 Exciter - $7,000

Most recently serviced by Classic Motor Sports in TC, these machines were all enjoyed this past winter on and around Platte Lake in Honor. Original owner, these sleds have always been stored indoors and have received routine maintenance throughout the past 40 years.

Will sell individually, or keep the trio together and they are all yours for $15k ($3k savings.)

Available for immediate showings – ‘send it…’

*340 is electric start!

They look nice, but what the fuck? five thousand, six thousand, seven thousand.
