Movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood [Tarantino]

Definitely not my favorite Tarantino movie. What was presented as a movie that was supposed to be about Charles Mansions cult and the Sharon Tate murder ended up being a buddy flick with Pitt and Leo. The acting was top notch and the chemistry between Pitt and Leo was quite good. The ending was phenomenal. The best parts (besides the ending) were the flashbacks of Leo's old roles or Pitts backstory.

The movie was one of those that did not seem to have any point. For a near 3 hour movie, it made it hard to follow. The GF did not very much care for it. For the firepower that they had in the cast, I expected more.

7/10 enjoyable and worth seeing, but not sure I'd watch it again if I saw it on randomly browsing TV channels.

Just going by the trailers. More so the inclusion of Sharon Tate, which was totally unnecessary and barely even fit into the plot.

There's a big reason for having Sharon Tate in this movie.

Tarantino builds her character so you get to see her as a real person.
She's so happy with her life, her husband and lover, her coming baby.
Then Tarantino does what he does at the end. It's almost like a love letter to her from Tarantino. Very satisfying love letter. "I would have saved you if I could."

Tarantino thinks on different levels from most people.

I think that's a stretch. I'd only agree that the ending is supposed to be revisionist and a big fuck you to the hippies.

I just saw this movie tonight.

All I can say is WTF!

I left the theater laughing and everyone with me was like WTF did we just see?

Tarantino definitely got audience reaction from this movie.

The climax is such a joy to watch.

Just watched, I enjoyed it, I knew something was coming I just didn’t know what, I watched it at work for 2/3’s and cut out had to google the Manson murders on my way home and it all came together, watched the end and bam not too shabby

The signature Tarentino aspect of his films didn't come till the last few minutes of the movie.... I was quite disappointed in this flick, very boring and uneventful. Probably his worst movie by far.

Watched this on flight to Mexico. Fuck did I enjoy it...

Movie was awful until the last 20-30 minutes.

There was so much time wasted not developing any sort of plot, just characters rolling through the mundane actions of their day without any direction in where the movie might be going.

That's what Tarentino does. Mundane, mundane, mundane, Wham! He builds the characters so you know them and intermixes them with his plot line(s).

Jackie Brown was exactly like this and I consider that one of his best films.

I had to stop about a half an hour into it. Any more I think I would have slit my wrists.

I remember watching Helter Skelter.....took me a few years to listen to Beatles music. In fact I don't listen to any of their stuff towards the end.
