Just come get this thing...

Wife bought a Dyna-Glo at Home Depot yesterday as my Fathers Day/B-Day gift, to replace this.

I bought it new around 1995, and we've used it well since. I usually power wash it at least once a year, replace flavorizer bars every couple years, the ignitor usually every other year (it's out again), but it's just showing it's age, and well, it's time to move on. The one thing I like about this, that the new grill doesn't have, is the spring loaded tank holder, that tells you how much LP is left. We still use it, just that it has to be manually lit. :D

A really complete clean up and I'm sure it'll be good to go again.

Just bring me some liquid libation, or maybe a free reach around (if the Wife isn't looking)...

Ignore the big Brinkmann grill, that is long gone, but you can see the Weber behind it.

I love Weber too. I really wanted an equivalent new Genesis, but Weber have moved upscale and you just can't afford it.

Thats a good Weber grill, parents used to have one... They replaced it with a new weber when the legs on their old Weber rotted out .

Dammit, I just bought new burners for my old Genesis 1000 on Friday to take out to my Dad's place on the chain. This would have been perfect for that.

Shocked this hasn't gone yet. You into home made stuff? I can bring you some of my mead cider. Otherwise I have a bunch of commercial wine in the cellar if you're into that.

I understand by where you are at.

For all, it still works. We have used it a couple times this year already, heck even over the winter. Just that it's, well, old and well "loved". :D

Not so much in to wine, what is this mead cider you speak of.

Mead cider is something I've been working on. The idea is that traditional mead is X quantity of honey padded out with water to make a specific volume and fermented. In my particular case I used apple juice instead of water and reduced the honey content. The result definitely has a cider taste and bite however it has a smoother, sweeter honey finish to it.

The idea is more along the lines of long term I'd like to start converting some of our hive dividends into booze and perhaps retailing those instead. This was made with locally grown Joliet honey.

Ahh, I thought maybe you misspelled meat. :D Yea, not our cup of sanka.

You're still more than welcome to the grill though.

Trash day is Thursday, so Wednesday evening, I may be pulling it around to the curb.

What kinda booze you into? Let me see about getting this Armslist deal locked down and I'll try to get things a bit more solid. Tuesday evening's probably okay right?

Well, tomorrow night is the actual B-Day, so she wants to make me dinner that night, so probably out.

I'm just a simple beer kinda guy.

Yea, so can anyone else (not that I would be unhappy), but would hate for him to come all the way to find it gone. :D

Also, reading the reviews on this new grill, the drip tray completely rusts out within a year or two, so I will probably take some high temp exhaust paint and coat it nicely tonight and hopefully buy it some more time.

I've garbage picked a couple of older Gensis grills of that vintage, they're great. Easily fixable and great grills. I've had thoughts of just finding them, fixing them, and selling them, people throw them away all the time, and it costs nothing to paint them back up and fix them.

I've been doing that for the past 10 years or so. Just tired of doing it. Again, I've had it ~25 years.
