And if you had shocks your vehicle likely wouldn't do that...because the shock eats a lot of that bumps upward momentum, then it also stops the spring from, well, springing up and down continuously...causing you to lose traction after the bump...The gif is exaggerated, but you see how little the tire actually moves....it doesn't dip into the hole as much, as it doesn't rebound as much....all the shock does is dampen the movement of the tire so it stays in contact with the ground....which is good, for you know, traction?

if Alex was an automotive engineer he’d design the 2021 Model T. Suspension and fancy gimmicks are for the weak. Real men prefer their trucks to drive like school buses

You guys simply don't understand. Lol. There is no give in a full spring lift to even give a fuck about movement

I can almost guarantee that some racecars have FAR less travel than your suspension, but the shock is arguably THE most important component of that vehicle's suspension setup, because it greatly impacts not only suspension travel, but how weight is transfered in cornering, acceleration, and braking...just like they do in ALL vehicles...it doesn't matter how much travel or how hard the springs are, they still are springs, and they act like springs

Does your leaf pack have like a dozen or more leaves?

And less important is the inches of lift, but what the weight rating of the spring pack is

Completely understand where you are coming from because I had 2 1/2 ton military axles on HD leaf springs on my square body. The shocks were ornaments. Mine was a show queen, But if you are driving panda on the road, the suspension does have some harmonics happening which the shocks absorb. I sold dozens of simple shocks when I worked at Peterbilt for OTR trucks. I seent some freakish shock failure where they would just explode...lol

Mind is made up. Since I won’t be using my truck for much “truck stuff” in the next year, I’m trading it in on an appliance vehicle

this solution will only last until we sign on the dotted line for the next house. I’m literally going shopping the next day

Thinking this:

please no.

Paperwork is done for the accord, truck is gone this week

Looking at the #'s I just can't say no to it. $700/mo in my pocket. Even if I get in to another truck in the spring I'm still way ahead on cash

Oooooor I could just keep the track stuff on the backburner for a while and pick up a zl1 next fall once we're moved in

me tuesday after 3 & a half hours with bababy screamin' wakin up at 4 am drinking a monster with my yeti tumbler full of ccoffee also.

FUELED BY CRACK

I fucking love Dane.

He was starting a new tour when covid hit.
i enjoy him as well.

I LEAVE FOR TWO FUCKING DAYS AND YOU DO WHAT

Going to suck a little bit in the short term, but the way I see it I have two options:

1. Commit to a full track season next year. In that case I'd need to keep my truck and also buy a trailer since I no longer have one to borrow. With this comes another $3-4k in gas, slicks for the bike, hotels, parts, tracktime, races, etc (this is on top of a trailer for $3500). This wouldn't be smart while building a house, also adds risk that I could crash and be really fucked if I'm unable to work or something. I have good benefits/coverage in that event but you never know how banks would interpret that
2. Make it a light season, 2-3 track days max and no races. Well if this is the case I'm not gonna buy a trailer, I'd just ride to the track with a friend, so why make a big payment on a truck that I don't really need? Pretty easy decision once I decided to go this route

I'll pocket $700/mo or more for the next howevermany months I keep the honda. I expect it to be about a year, maybe a little less, unless I decide to keep it long term and pick up a zl1 instead of going full tilt with trackstuff/truck/trailer.
Yaj Yak Yaj Yak My logic is undeniable

No worries buttercup, whatever I buy next will be 6.2 powered. But it will be a year before anything happens
