Naperville is just the pinnacle of first world problems.

Rich, uppity area with a huge drug problem and some of the worst choices in taste I've ever seen when it comes to houses. Fucking mansions on 1/16 acre literal postage stamp lots. "I want to live in the city but I don't want to live IN the CITY so we'll turn this area into a city."

we looked at a house 3 doors down from that one before we bought our current place. Haman road kind of sucks because it floods every time it rains. That particular neighborhood isn't as fun either because all the streets are on a grid, I like my neighborhood where it is like a road course getting to my house with twists and bends and whatnot :)

PS, the shittiest thing about Inverness is also a pretty good thing... It is cook county so as a percentage our property taxes are much lower than the surrounding counties. When we were looking in this area, houses 15 minutes north of here in Kildeer or 15 minutes west would have taxes 50% higher. They are still crazy high but lower then they could be.

Was sent this from a a few lenderI work with both in and out of state.

“The conforming loan limit will increase from $548,000 to $625,000 starting next week. That means you can purchase a $658,000 home with just 5% down. “
This is great news. Methinks lenders will be pretty strict with down payment percentages, but requiring a jumbo loan starting at 548k was absurd with the current state of the market.

A house in my neighborhood that they think they're getting 450 for. It's been a vacant dump for years.
