Really happy to report that Phoenix is 5 weeks post op and finally is walking. We had to get lazer therapy done last sunday as he wasn't using or putting any weight on it at all. It started looking like dead leg. Muscle is slowly building back up and he is happy it's getting warmer out.

Just knocked out our first walk around the block, on all four legs, in over 5 months.

Thor had the same thing done to his knee. He was staying off it and limping for a quite a while. It looked severely atrophied as well. He's been using it and running around and even acts more "puppy like" since getting the surgery done as well as lost a lot of weight. It must have been bothering him for a long time because he's a whole new dog now.

Tonight was hard. I am out of town for work and the time arrived to put our Greyhound Shae to rest. I am thankful my wife and daughter FaceTimed me with Shae for 20 minutes. I got to see and talk to Shae. I did not see his last breath. I did not want my family to hold a phone for me. Im thankful I got 20 minutes with him. We adopted Shae about 5 years ago. He was an older Greyhound and was a return. He raced 96 races and won 8 of them along with many top 5 finishes. When we took him in. We thought he was blind and deaf. Shae would not respond to us at all. And why would he. He raced all those years along with some assholes adopting him for a year and then return him. Eventually Shae opened up to us and he was an amazing dog to have. So lovable, playful, loved the snow, loved laying in his yard no matter day/night rain, snow or sun and howling. I will miss him a lot.
