They've (VAG) have been teasing it for years, so until I see something definitive that they're in development, or even testing, I'm not going think much about it.

I'd like to see BMW and Cosworth come back as engine suppliers though. Heck, even bring Toyota back into the fray. We need more diversity of engine suppliers, and for that I think the FIA would need to relax the cost caps and tight restrictions on engines.

From what I heard they are actively involved in the 2025 engine regulation meetings with the FIA

damn ?

Also I'm sure THIS had no bearing on the decision whatsoever....

Hamilton was left "disillusioned" with F1 as a result of events in Abu Dhabi, according to Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff, and lost faith in the FIA.

It emerged in the new year that Hamilton would not commit to an F1 return this season until he had seen how the FIA planned to address the issue.

Maybe, but it seems a lot of people are forgetting max was still behind Lewis when the race restarted. The fact that Lewis was driving on worn out tires is not anybodys fault but Mercedes.
This is how I see it. They chose not to pit and paid the price when there was a safety car, that’s a risk they decided to take

Because they knew that the safety car should have been out longer and the race should have finished behind it. But Masi decided to break the rules, not unlap all the cars, and pulled the safety car in early.

They are also throwing in no more direct communication between the team principals and race control.
