Back in June I saw a Reddit thread about drivers cards being sent out by the teams per request . I inquired to both MB and RB and I got my MB cards in the mail today.

Turkey this weekend! Thank god. This track needs to be on the calendar. Even tho we were supposed to be at Suzuka this weekend, which also would have been great. Red Bull are even running a special tribute livery to Honda this weekend

While this probably wont be the F1 on Ice race that we had last year here, it feels like the track still might not be as grippy as it should be yet, and there is a POSSIBLE chance of rain this weekend yet. And also a rumor that Hamilton COULD take his engine penalty this weekend...........in for excitement!

This whole engine penalty to the driver is complete and utter horseshit. It's the engineers, developers, and mechanics that are responsible for the drivetrain. Instead of penalizing the driver, start deducting Constructor's Championship points.

Oh, hey, Bottas needs a new MGU? That'll cost you 50 Constructors points. Hamilton too? That's another 50 please. In 2-3 races they won't have any points left. Will make them work harder to keep their shit working.

That's really nice. I was looking for a 20V XR 90º impact, but couldn't find any. Just the regular ratchets.

Im all for some sort of points reduction. Change a a part, only receive half points for the race. Tho, as close as the championship can be (this season as a prime example) I'm not even sure half points would even be that much of a "penalty" for the top team.

you make a very point and I never put much thought into it.
Maybe the counter argument is that the teams get penalized financially.

It also gives the opportunity for more actual racing, so i'm kind of indifferent on it.

They do if they drop in standings for the constructors championship. The gap between positions is millions of dollars.

Instead of penalizing a driver for the team’s problem, penalize the team instead.

Like, oh, you qualified on pole but since your team gave you a new MGU you’ll start the back of the grid. Let them start on pole, dock the team like 25 points. Don’t screw the driver and potentially their career. Case in point, Mercedes screwing Bottas in Russia. He potentially could have won.

It's a team sport. They can just throw new engines in all the time and keep pole position. Big money teams would just dominate the sport even more than they do now.
