For a long part of that race I only saw passing in turn 1. I wasn’t watching F1 when they used to race here. Thought maybe that’s just how the track was. At the end some more aggressive driving was happening which was nice. Cool to see hulk get called up and have a solid race.

Yeah, pretty much that T1-T3 section was all the passing. Lots of over/under though there and then had to try to not carry too much speed into T4 and exceed track limits, which Grosjean got a white/black flag for.

You guys ever look at the sportsbooks for F1? Honestly it’s pretty damn accurate because it takes like $300-$400 to make $100 off a Hamilton win. The odds of any other driver winning are pretty low.

I’ve never looked, but over the last few years I could see the odds getting pretty high for someone else to win. Imagine the payout though.

Like $100 on a Williams or HAAS to finish 1st, what would that win ya?

This track looks like it will be a go kart track for an F1 car. This weekend should be fun!

Good! Let’s get an American in F1 on the American team. Both those guys seemed like whiney babies. Magnussen showed some spunk at some point but I think a change is good (and a better engine)!

Well color me surprised and knock me over with a feather. I like Maggy though. He doesn’t give a shit who he is racing against, uses the same grunt. Grosjean needed the boot.

They need a veteran driver to get that car sorted out though.

I think Grosjean knew his time was up. The last race or 2 he was complaining less (slightly), and actually giving his team members props. Mags was still a surprise to me tho. I definitely think one of the seats will be taken by a ferrari jr driver. The other seat? ......who knows. Perez is still on the hook for a drive, but I don't quite see him as a "development" driver

Guys, the onboard video of this track makes it look like a roller coaster. The passing might not be great during the race but watching them zoom around is neat!

Qualifying delayed 30 minutes due to track repair.

i took a nap in FP2, aside from the little excitements like verstappen/stroll, and gaslys marshmallow roast. Quali was interesting after the delay. I passed the time by watching a livestream of Jimmy Broadbent trying to get golds on all the super license tests in GT3 God that brought back feels.

I don’t expect much action tomorrow. Maybe a good crash due to them still learning the track and taking risks.

Sucks VB lost pole by such a small margin, which Crofty had just been talking about.

I gotta find out what Bottas does to keep such a level head all the time. I know it's tough as shit being Hamiltons partner, but if I led every practice session of the weekend, and Q1 and Q2 and then just lost out to pole by the tiniest of margins right at the last second........that whole paddock would be in flames
