So after spending about a bored hour and a half running all the different configurations and such, it really looks like the best bang for your buck is an XLT with the XLT Luxury Package. XLT gives you all the power options, cruise, power mirrors, pretty good looking alloy wheels IMO, body color accents and a nicer cloth interior. I really couldn't care less about the wheels and body accents, but at minimum I want power windows, power locks, power heated mirrors, A/C, cruise control and some sort of factory phone integration, and the fact that you can't check those basic boxes on an XL is annoying. The luxury package gives you:
-8 way power drivers seat, 6 way manual passenger
-400w inverter with plug in cab and bed
-Bed tie-down rails
-Spray in Bedliner
-Heated Mirrors
-Heated Seats
-Heated wiper park
-Keyless entry w/remote start
-Leather wrapped, heated steering wheel
-LED box lighting
-Trailer Hitch w/wiring
That package for $2,300 is a steal in my opinion.
So, I pre-ordered one. I know it doesn't mean shit, but, it's a Maverick XLT with the 2.5 Hybrid powertrain. Carbonized Gray. XLT Luxury Package with no other options checked. If the 40mpg number holds true, the hybrid gets rated to tow at least 2000#'s, I comfortably fit in it and the pricing stays where they say, I think it will be a perfect DD. I'll lose some towing capability compared to my Yukon, but I'll gain the MPG that I was looking at purchasing yet another vehicle to achieve. In the end I'll call having to potentially use my big truck a bit more in that 2001#-6000# window to allow one less vehicle owned is a wash that I'm totally fine with.
Puts the total MSRP at $26,120.
