Actually doing some quick math, Shitas era for that game is the second worst compared to everyone on that list. Not historically bad though, just second worst in like 100 years.

What exactly do you expect me to show you? A list of the most earned runs in a game EVER were just posted and Shita’s ERA for his game is actually worse than most on that list. 🤣🤣🤣

When your outing is worse than the worst ever, it’s historic my man.
Show me its the worst ever

“Um, actually. Shita had the second worst outting ever so show me how that’s historic.” - Shawn

“Carrie Woods struck out a few people in historic fashion once!!! Yay kid K!” - also Shawn

Most runs allowed in single start, since 1961:
Mike Oquist, OAK --
14 runs in 5 IP vs. NYY, Aug. 3, 1998
Bill Travers, MIL -- 14 runs in 7 2/3 IP vs. CLE, Aug. 14, 1977
Ben Lively, CIN -- 13 runs in 4 IP vs. CHC, Aug. 1, 2023
Colby Lewis, TEX -- 13 runs in 2 1/3 IP vs. LAA, July 10, 2014
Scott Kazmir, LAA -- 13 runs in 5 IP vs. OAK, July 10, 2010
Jason Marquis, STL -- 13 runs in 5 IP vs. CWS, June 21, 2006
Mike Busby, STL -- 13 runs in 4 IP vs. ATL, April 7, 1996
David Wells, TOR -- 13 runs in 4 1/3 IP vs. MIL, Aug. 20, 1992
Galen Cisco, BOS -- 13 runs in 5 1/3 IP vs. WSA, July 27, 1962

Again because its obvious you dont want to admit it. Kerry Wood game was the best pitched game in history.

Dude. It’s basic math. 10 earned runs in 3 innings is equivalent to a 30 ERA. Thats worse than almost every example you provided above. Thank you for proving my point.

Let me help you out. If Shita pitched 5 innings like most on this list he was on pace to give up 17 runs.

Does that help you visualize the historical aspect of this start?

No fucking shit, thank you for pointing that out. Too bad ERA goes the length of a season and not a single game.
Even with his historical bad game by your measures, he still has a better ERA than Crochet so whats that tell you?

Now you and H Huggerorange73 can go fuck yourselves. I have beer and liquor to drink and Turk Turk your more than welcome to come over and argue with me in my pool.
Shots of Patron and or Casimigos are on the house.
Got food as well, pulled pork, wings, dogs, brats, and burgers

We all argue more about semantics and minutiae here than anything else. One side naturally skews more to one interpretation of data/facts depending on how it best supports their own point of view. And we get irritated when someone skews to the other side of it and ignores the other aspect. Anyway, we're BBQing and fireworking tonight in Plainfield, so sticking here regardless of invite status, so not settling it out over beers tonight LOL . Sorry! :P

Apparently for 2024, the worst ERA for one game this season is 162.0 giving up 6 runs in 1/3 of an inning. Several others over 100 as well for short outings less than 1 inning. Still, not diminishing that 10 runs in 3 innings by Imanaga was historically bad in the modern era, though.

Nobody told you to move 8000 miles away. Otherwise I woulda invited you.
Shit, mine too, WTF.
My boy, you already know how we get down. Open door policy
Drew Thorpe's six scoreless innings brings White Sox' starting pitchers ERA to 2.77 over last 15 games with 10 quality starts. It's the best mark in the AL.
How many of those games did they win?
