These are the right words, the actions that follow them will show his true colors.

So, is Bellinger staying?

Will the Cubs go all in and bring Ohtani and Bellinger to the North Side?

They certainly have the resources.
Fuck Ohtani, his bum arm and fuck paying him $500m. I dont want nothing to do with that shit.
Yes I want Belly to stay but not at what Boras is going to seek for him. I'd be okay with $30m per for 5-6 years, but I'm sure he is looking for 8+years.

Was curious to see your thoughts on Ohtani as I'm in the same camp as you.

Cody aint worth big money after 1 good season... The guy is a career .250 hitter...

If Cubs give him a massive contract, he'll be a worthless piece of shit just like every other player they've ever signed to a massive contract. Most recent example, Heyward... No one the Cubs ever signs to big deals ever turns out to be worth it.

Huh, ignore his average as that doesnt tell the whole story. When the guy is healthy he is a fucking beast, one of the best defensively in CF and probably slightly above average at 1st. Left handed power hitters are hard to come by, so yes you need to pay a premium for guys like that.
$30m for 5 years really isnt that much money by todays standards for a left handed power hitter. But as I said if he wants 8yrs or better, fuck him.
You want offensive metrics, I'll use Huggerorange73 Huggerorange73 favorite OPS+ with 100 being average
Listing his WAR (2.0 is average) as well which includes offense, defense, base running etc

2017: OPS+ 143 WAR 4.2
2018: OPS+ 120 WAR 4.2
2019: OPS+ 167 WAR 9.0
2020: OPS+ 112 WAR 1.4 (60 game season)
2021: OPS+ 44 WAR -1.5 (hurt)
2022: OPS+ 81 WAR 1.2 (hurt)
2023: OPS+ 137 WAR 4.0

Cubs dont win a WS without J-Hey imo so money well spent. (No, I'm not talking about his alleged speech)
You also have to remember, he was the TOP free agent position player available that year. There were 2-3 other teams the Cardinals included that offered him more money.

I'd be inclined to steer clear of Bellinger as well, have to figure the ask is going to be massive.
Rumors have it he wants a long term deal at or above $25m per. You know he is going to get it from someone.
Like I said, I'd be fine at 5 years, possibly 6, maybe club option for the 6th.
