But submitting a bid means they could be outbid and just use this as a way to strong arm the Mayor and Park District to give them what they want.

Yeah, for sure. Still makes me more optimistic than I was before. I also wouldn't be shocked if the dumbass McCaskey family bid like $10M.....probably $180M short of what the property will really sell for.

If they can somehow pull it off though, and build a retractable roof....we'd be getting the Super Bowl, Final Four, etc. And I can ride my bike there!!

Thoughts on the Bears, start over fresh beginning with ownership. Moving the stadium does not resolve the issues, challenges and weaknesses that prevents them from being a top-tier team.

I cant believe they submitted a bid, kinda agree with Shawn its probably just to mess with the mayor LOL. That metra station and parking is the real deal for that property though. Traffic would be horrendous, 53 gets jacked at rush hour, and they've been planning to update the 53/290/90 clover soon too.

But the majority of home games are on Sunday, so other than Bears traffic, it wouldn't be too bad...

I might consider seasons tickets and seat licenses at that point in time.

idk it can get jacked quick. Rt53 and the exits around Arlington park would for sure need updates. Don't forget you got woodfield area traffic too. 290/90/53 is a massive interchange. 1 accident and it typically turns to a parking lot.

And for parking, isn't all those buildings just to the west and NW of the parking lot, the stables? I'm sure that whole area would be steamrolled for additional parking.

Yeah they'd be able to use all that land for more parking. Google says Arlington park has 35,000 seats. Soldier field is double that, yet the smallest capacity in the league. Largest NFL stadium seating is 82,500.
