makes everything all stretchy and full screen becomes useless for many apps
Wut?

I love my 34” lg. For the single ultra wide display is perfect for multitasking.

I wish I could get my boss to buy one for work.

I’d ditch my 3 screens in a heartbeat.
Yeah. It’s messy. Only the Mac laptop and dual monitors are mine. Every other machine is either a test bench or getting prepped for delivery.

Maybe if I get my lab cleaned up I’ll take that picture. I’ve got about 1500sq-ft to myself.

This thread has convinced me to get an ultrawide for work.

Do it. Just make sure you get at least 1440 vertical. I tried a 1080 vert and it's horrid. Mine is 3440x1440 (2k superhd or whatever the fuck they call it for ultra wide)

So you have no legitimate reason

Buying one right now

Why haven't you done it yet.

To expand on this, I've been a dual monitor user for as long as I can remember and for work I much prefer the ultrawide. With the right time spent with screen splitting software (I use windock) you'll never want to go back.

I tried an ultrawide to replace my gaming setup and using it with games in full screen, even with screen splitting software, is just not feasible imo. Worked great for fullscreen gaming but not if you want a side bitch while gaming. I settled with the asus 27" 2k 144 and a basic bitch 24 1080 side bitch.

Why the fuck would you ever NEED to have a full screen page like that? The entire point of an ultra wide is multitasking... So your argument is invalid.
Did you not read where I said I use almost all of my apps windowed? Put two apps side by side full screen and I bet you there's no wasted space.
If multitasking is the goal, a 4k monitor is better for that. You have more desktop real-estate vs an ultrawide.

Porn?:sneaky:

But yeah, once you get an ultra wide you start multi-tasking everything. I never run apps full screen.

Almost always two apps side by side.
If it didn't cost so much I'd go to a 38" ultra-wide.
Amazon product

Especially for IT. You can fit 4-1080p RDP sessions on a 4k and all the same size and scale.

We've got a few 4K displays at work. Most people don't like them and prefer two 24" 1080p monitors. A 4K 32" screen sounds great. But the text is generally too small to read comfortably. By the time we up the DPI scaling so its readable, they've lost the screen Realestate for multi-tasking.

Our Prepress dept runs on 4k and 5k screens. There it makes sense as they are looking at high res images all day long.

VVX310? Whole company has them. Apparently the VVX311 (or whatever it's called that we DONT have) is gig capable. So every phone in our company is connected to a gig switch and then the phone passes 10/100 to the computer.

No wonder people complain about slowness of certain network heavy apps.
VVX311

my phone does not supply network to my PC. i have two ports in my cube, 1 for pc, 1 for phone.
